How to set up Facebook column presets

This article walks you through how to set up your Facebook columns so you can check performance at any time.

Step 1: Log in to Facebook Business Manager

  • Log in to Business Manager and navigate to Ads Manager
  • Select the correct ad account from the drop down menu located underneath the main menu

Step 2: Set your reporting columns

  • Within the Facebook dashboard, navigate to the Columns dropdown menu and click on Customize Columns
  • Clear the existing columns in the box to the right using the grey “X”
  • Enter each of the following metrics into the search box and then check off the box:
    • Ad Set Name
    • Delivery
    • Post Comments
    • Post Engagement
    • Results
    • Reach
    • Frequency
    • Cost per Results
    • Budget
    • Amount Spent
    • Ends
    • Schedule
    • Relevance Score
    • Impressions
    • CPM (Cost per 1,000 Impressions)
    • Link Clicks
    • CPC (Cost per Link Click)
    • CTR (Link Click-Through Rate)
    • Adds to Cart
    • Cost per Add to Cart - check “Cost”
    • Purchases (check Website Purchases)
    • Cost per Purchase - check “Total”
    • Purchases Conversion Value
    • Purchase ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) - check “Total”

Step 3: Save your reporting columns as a new preset

  • Once you have each metric selected, click the box “Save as preset”
  • You can save the preset as anything you’d like - we recommend calling it “Performance”
  • Click “Apply” to save the changes

The next time you log into Business Manager to see performance, select your saved preset from the Columns drop down menu. Remember to select the correct dates to see current data.

This is the same preset that we use to create performance summaries at the end of each month. With your new column setup, you can see the same data that we do and can check on performance as often as you’d like.
